Body Shaping: DOs and DON'Ts

Surgeries aren't always the best option , why?

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look better but we often look for the easiest and fastest way to get the body we dream of. But the reality isn't always pretty. Even when undergoing such surgeries the after care is very crucial and important.

Throughout this article I will speak of my own journey in shaping my body after childbirth.


My Body Shaping Journey

First and foremost begin by accepting your body. Begin by loving all the things it has done for you, especially if it has given you the gift of motherhood. We are human, we're not perfect but we are beautiful.

Don't start harsh!

Remember this isn't a race. Go at your own pace. I recommend starting your journey with shape wear.

Shape wear prevents irritability from the initial discomfort of waist training.

You will not feel like you're too 'fat' because you can't seem to keep the waist trainer on for too long. Starting with a waist trainer may lead to feeling discouraged about continuing your self-care journey. Shape wear compresses your stomach slightly and gently; Whereas a waist trainer will bruise you and only allow you to eat about 1/4-1/3 of your regular food intake making it uncomfortable to sit after a meal. But the goal isn't to starve yourself. Starving and only allowing yourself to eat 1-2 times a day instead of the recommended 5-6 times a day in smaller portions will bloat you. Healthy servings throughout the day will speed up your metabolism and reduce stomach fat. Some people will recommend an earlier cutout but I'm going to be realistic and say don't eat past 8 PM. 9 PM the latest if you're really serious about losing unhealthy weight. The goal is to tone the body so good fats are great and necessary. It is never too late but I do encourage beginning a healthy eating regimen before the age of 25. As we age it becomes much harder to maintain a good figure.


Toning Foods

The following foods will tone your body specifically your butt.

Avoid junk food for a smaller waist line and enhanced toned butt. Junk food will cause cellulite.


-Nuts(Specifically Almonds and Cashews)

-Eggs

-Chickpeas

-Lean Meat

-Salmon

-Chia Seeds

-Plain Greek Yogurt

-Brown Rice

-Quinoa

-Flax Seeds

-Legumes

-Dark Leafy Greens

-Almond Butter (Regular Butter Replacement)

-Protein Shakes

-Avocados

-Fish

-Spinach

-Mushrooms

-Tofu & Soy Chunks

-Cottage Cheese

-Milk

-Sweet Potato

-Hemp Seeds

-Chicken Breast
